Be a zero waste hero In the UK, all of us, on average, throw away 5 times our own body weight each year. Reduce plastic in the home A good way to start reducing your plastic use is to go around your home and do a room by room audit. Reduce food waste Wasting food is bad for the environment - including the climate. Go to a repair cafe Repair cafes are popping up along the length and breadth of Wales. Have you been to one yet? Borrow, swap, and share Borrowing is the new owning! Use toy libraries Toy libraries reduce waste, save money and bring communities together. Ethical mobile phone? Rather than get a new phone or upgrading, can you get it repaired or opt for a more environmentally-friendly phone? Terracycle TerraCycle specialises in recycling traditionally hard-to-recycle items. Join a litter picking group Each piece of litter we pick is one less piece of litter that could find its way into the oceans. Take action on microfibres As many of our clothes contain plastic, they can shed millions microfibres when we wash them, which end up in the sea. Do eco-friendly DIY A staggering 50 million litres of the 320 million litres of paint sold in the UK each year apparently gets wasted.
