Paperless office?

Hopefully most companies will have a ‘think before you print’ philosophy, encourage electronic storage of files rather than printing them out, printing on both sides of the paper and reusing previously one sided printed paper for notes etc.

On average, office workers in the UK print off 1,584 sheets of paper each per month! 

Digitise – as Treehugger states ‘the greenest paper is no paper at all’. 

And for any paper that you still need to buy, make sure it is recycled post consumer waste paper and grey paper. There are many suppliers of eco friendly paper products online.  

Producing recycled paper involves between 28 – 70% less energy consumption than virgin paper and uses less water. Here for more information.  

If you are upgrading your printer go for an eco friendly one. 

If your business uses packaging, do see if you can switch to eco friendly packaging

If you are a business that issues receipts, can you shift to e-receipts or at least ask customers if they wish their receipt to be printed.

Paper based marketing mail – if your business or company uses paper based direct marketing approaches then it is adding to the millions of leaflets that are printed and delivered to our doors, mostly to end up in the recycling or in bins. Is there are better way for your company to advertise?
