School uniform swap schemes

Published: 17 Nov 2021

We all know how quickly kids grow up and how often they seem to grow out of their school uniform. It seems silly therefore that there aren’t better solutions rather than having to always buy new uniform.

We all know how quickly kids grow up and how often they seem to grow out of their school uniform. It seems silly therefore that there aren’t better solutions rather than having to always buy new uniform.

The Children’s Commissioner for Wales and her staff have been working with schools and communities on a school uniform swap scheme to help save people money and help reduce the environmental impact of uniforms.

If you have children at a local school and the school currently doesn’t have a uniform swap scheme, could you pop along and chat with them about starting one?

It might also be a fun way for the students to learn more about the impact of clothes and textiles on our planet.
