Last weekend, hundreds of thousands of people joined The Big One in London to protest against the climate and ecological emergency.

Communities from across Wales, including members of the Friends of the Earth Cymru network in Bangor, Caerphilly, Cardiff, Pontypridd, Pembrokeshire, and Ruthin, travelled the distance to make sure their voices were heard, joining many Welsh organisations and groups such as Climate Cymru.

The protest, organised by Extinction Rebellion and supported by Friends of the Earth and many other organisations, was calling for a citizen-led democracy to end the fossil fuel era and a fair society.

Below are some photos of the day.
