There are lot of things we can do!

Planting a tree or two (if you have the room in your garden obviously!) has numerous benefits including helping reduce some water runoff from your property.

How about a rain garden?

Other plants, bushes, hedges and grassy areas (instead of paved front gardens for example) can also help reduce water runoff from your property which in turn will mean storm drains receiving less water, especially during very wet weather and will also help reduce some water run off pollution. Here in Wales, the NRW has lots more information.

In Wales, there are specific planning regulations for homeowners wishing to pave over their front gardens.
