Tell Carmarthenshire Council: say no again to extending Glan Lash coal mine

Published: 6 Nov 2024

Last year Carmarthenshire councillors said no to extending Glan Lash coal mine. But now the same company has applied to extract coal from the site again. The council must reject this application and keep Wales free from open cast mining.

We’re in a nature and climate emergency. But if this mine is approved, 85,000 tonnes of coal could be extracted and used from it, releasing unacceptable levels of climate-wrecking gases. Threatening further the delicate ecology and precious wildlife of the surrounding area.

To protect communities and nature alike, we must keep coal in the ground where it belongs. Have your say: use our tool to contact the planning department now.

Demand Carmarthenshire council rejects this application before it’s too late.
